Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services.
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete healthcare needs. Cytology, parasitology, hematology, digital radiology, dental radiology, endoscopy, ultrasonography, electrocardiography and telemedicine services (among others) are available for the assessment of your pets' health status. A complete pharmacy and state-of-the-art surgical suite are available for the treatment of most medical conditions. We may be small, but we're powerful!
When pets are injured or take ill, their conditions often require in-hospital treatments such as fluid therapy, nutritional support and injectable medication. For common injuries and illnesses, Sunset's dedicated hospital crew insures they receive the most caring veterinary attention around. Should more intensive care be required, after-hours veterinary facilities are always available nearby.
Whether it's well-pet care for a pack or home-based services for especially fearful pets, our doctors will come to you. In-home hospice or at-home euthanasia services — delivered with a loving touch — are a specialty. House calls are scheduled in advance by special arrangement so please plan accordingly.
Euthanasia & Final Arrangements
Is it time? Not sure? Don’t worry … we're there for you. We'll always help your whole family come to a carefully considered decision. And when the time finally comes, we'll take care of all the details, including cremation, burial, paw print mementos or any other arrangements you desire. Final arrangements are made with the help of our friends at Pet Heaven.
Internal Medicine Consultations.
We offer in-hospital referral to a board-certified veterinary internal medicine specialist, Dr. Jeff Toll, who performs ultrasounds, endoscopy and consultations for the diagnosis and treatment of more complicated cases. Dr. Toll is available by special arrangement so please call in advance for these services.
Our state-of-the-art digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Remote consultations with board-certified veterinary radiologists are routinely employed.
We provide ECG services on-site as well as remote consultations with board-certified veterinary cardiologists whenever appropriate. For more complex cases, Dr. Robert Prosek is our local choice for board-certified cardiology services.
At Sunset Animal Clinic we believe strongly in the collaborative approach to veterinary medicine. Training & Behavioral Counseling.
We provide advice regarding the correction of behavior problems including excessive barking and chewing, inappropriate urination and house soiling, scratching and digging, biting and growling (and other signs of aggression) ... among many others. We work closely with local trainers and board-certified veterinary behaviorist Dr. Lisa Radosta to bring our patients the newest recommendations and access the highest quality training and behavior services available anywhere.
We provide the latest information regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage and disease state. Our veterinarians and staff are open-minded and willing to discuss any feeding philosophy you may adhere to, including home-cooking. We work closely with the nutrition staff at the University of Tennessee to bring you tailored recipes should you have a specific interest in customized home-cooked diets for your pets.
Individualized Parasite Control Programs.
We know that when it comes to parasite, one size does not fit all. That's why we develop individualized parasite control programs to meet the specific needs of pets and their own particular environmental situation. Topical, oral, and even drug-free solutions are all part of the equation.
